LPC, Mental Health Counselor
providing telehealth counseling in Ohio

I'm a therapist who enjoys the relational work of collaborating with people who find themselves at a place where they are ready to stop doing the hard parts of life on their own. Life is full of paradox and sometimes it helps to have a trusted person sit with you in the complexity of that reality. I consider it an honor to bear witness to your pain, to your joy, to your, fears, and your hopes. When we feel seen, heard, and better understood oftentimes we feel empowered to step into who we really are and live more fully.

My favorite spaces to show up for my clients are within navigating the struggles of anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and the complexities of recovering from religious trauma. My work is centered on creating a space where trust, safety, and collaboration thrive, with a focus on the relational dynamics that shape healing. I work especially well with individuals who feel stuck, disconnected, or weighed down by hidden shame and ingrained patterns of self-criticism. I enjoy offering the benefits of talk therapy and EMDR therapy for those who are seeking modalities that help embrace relational connection and a greater sense of personal embodiment. Together, we’ll deepen your awareness of your emotions, uncover your inner wisdom (it's been there all along), and use these insights to help you face challenges, heal, and cultivate a more authentic and connected sense of self.

If this is the kind of work you're curious to explore, then I invite you to reach out however you're most comfortable. Email, text, or call and I can help get you scheduled for our first session together.

Mental Health Counseling, Eclectic Modalities with a Focus on Emotive Psychodynamic Therapy and EMDR Therapy

I'm a licensed professional counselor providing online individual counseling services to adults in the state of Ohio. I completed my graduate degree in Professional Counseling, M.A., from Liberty University in 2015 and my undergraduate degree in Family & Child Development, B.S., from Liberty University in 2009.

As a therapist who enjoys working with those who are starting to untangle the complicated threads of religious trauma, I'm keenly aware of how triggering it may be to see I'm an alum of Liberty. Good for you for noticing your inner voice and paying attention to what that brings up for you. I personally understand the courage it takes to deconstruct one's faith and religious experiences. When you're ready, I'd love to be a part of what that experience might look like for you.

Insurance:

I own a self-pay practice and I am not contracted with any insurance companies. There are unexpected benefits to choosing a self-pay therapist, to learn more you can check out my blog post here: "6 Reasons You Might Not Want to Use Health Insurance for Your Mental Health Care."

However, if you want to use your insurance, I may be able to provide services as an out-of-network provider.

Once a month, per your request, I can provide you with a Superbill that you can then submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. I will not be communicating with insurance companies and it will be your responsibility to submit Superbills to your insurance company as well as to correspond with your insurance company.

Here are important questions to ask your insurance company about reimbursement for services:

  • What is my out-of-network deductible for outpatient mental health visits?

  • How much of my deductible has been met this year?

  • What is my out-of-network coinsurance for outpatient mental health visits?

  • What behavioral health services do you cover out-of-network?

  • How many sessions do you cover?

  • What is the rate of reimbursement when attending sessions with an LPC provider who is under supervision of an LPCC-S?

  • Are virtual outpatient mental health visits (or teletherapy) covered by my plan?

  • How do I submit claims for out-of-network reimbursement?

Full payment is due at the end of each session from your card on file.

It is of importance to note that when using out-of-network benefits, I must provide a diagnosis on your Superbill for you to submit to your insurance company. For those choosing self-pay rather than out-of-network benefits, I am able to forego giving you a diagnosis, per your request in the initial diagnostic session, while still treating your symptoms and implementing an evidence-based treatment plan to help you achieve your desired goals and outcomes of your time in counseling.

I practice under the clinical supervision of Emily Linder, LPCC-S (Ohio License Number: E.2001749-SUPV)
